Batteries are the part that catches fire.
Lithium-ion cells in a mixed load cause most recycling fires. We handle batteries as their own stream: packed, labeled and transported under DOT hazardous materials rules, with the paperwork done for you.
Lithium-ion
Laptop and phone batteries, power banks, e-bike and tool packs, and battery modules. Terminals taped, each battery bagged, and packed in approved drums with vermiculite.
UPS & lead-acid
UPS strings from data rooms, forklift batteries and emergency lighting. Lead-acid has value, so these usually pay. We disconnect and remove whole strings during decommissions.
Paperwork included
Hazmat shipping papers, California universal waste logs, and a certificate of recycling by weight and chemistry for your EHS records.
Four things that keep a battery pickup safe
- Keep batteries out of e-waste bins. Collect them in their own container, away from heat.
- Tape the terminals on anything loose. Clear packing tape over both ends is fine.
- Set swollen or damaged cells aside and tell us when you book. They travel under different rules.
- Leave batteries in the device if they can't be removed safely. We'll take the whole thing.
